Giants Group of Madurai

GIANTS Group of Madurai is a voluntary social organization affiliated to GIANTS Welfare Foundation, formerly known as Giants International, the first International Service Organization founded in India. While the GIANTS International was formed in the Year 1972 at Mumbai, this Madurai Group was chartered on 25.11.1974 itself, the first group in South Indiaunder the able guidance of late Sri AnverTayub. Then, this group extended a number of Groups in Tamilnadu and Kerala States.

During its Past 50 Years, it has done many noteworthy communities service projects in the Fields of Education, Medical Care, Family Planning, Projects for differently abled, Tree Planting, Drug abuse, Education, Blood Donation, Save the Girl child, Aids Awareness, Rainwater Harvesting etc. This group was recognized by the Madurai Branch of Family Planning Association of India for its continuous association with them for their programmes. Our member Late Mr. M.Thangaraj has constructed and donated a building costing around Rs. 15 Lakhs to the School for the Blind at Sundarajanpatty, near Madurai. For its services, it has won many International, Federation and Unit level awards. It is well known for its best administration for which it has created its own Constitution and Bye Laws, and it is now a registered Society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975 and an assessee of the Income Tax Act 1961, having its own PAN.

The group has given many officers to Units, Federation and International and one of the present Deputy World Chairmen, CA. M. Lakshmanan is from this group.

It has conducted many Unit and Federation level conferences, and many training programs to officers of groups and Federation. It was given the honor of hosting GIANTS International Convention in the year 1982 and once again the honor was given in 2018 in its 44thYear.

The Group has formed a Charitable Trust by name GIANTS GROUP OF MADURAI Trust in the Year 1996,which is registered U.S.12AA & 80G of Income Tax Act 1961.
